About
The golf coach that remembers your game
Fore-ward Thinking is a coaching app for golfers who practice with a launch monitor or a simulator. You log your sessions. The coach reads each one against every session before it, tells you what to work on, and next time tells you whether it worked.
What it is
Every session you log, simulator, range, or on course, becomes part of a Golfer DNA profile that sharpens each time you practice. The coach, Chip, reads your latest numbers against that history, names the real miss rather than today's symptom, prescribes a practice block for it, and checks the pattern again the next time you play. Nothing resets between sessions.
It coaches from measured data: club path, face to path, spin, strike patterns, and carry. Not from swing video. Those numbers describe what your swing actually produced, and they are what a launch monitor already gives you. If you want frame by frame video analysis, pair us with a video tool. We are the memory layer.
Fore-ward Thinking reads session exports from Trackman, the Foresight family (GCQuad, GC3, Launch Pro), Uneekor, Garmin R10, FlightScope Mevo+, Square Golf, and Rapsodo MLM2PRO. If you play GSPro or another sim, your launch monitor's own export carries the same data. It runs in the browser, so it works on any device and updates the moment we improve it.
Who built it
Fore-ward Thinking was built by Andrew Feaman, an engineer and a golfer. Andrew holds an industrial engineering degree and runs process engineering at a manufacturing plant in the Midwest. He got into golf, saw how much data a simulator produces, and bought one: a Uneekor Eye Mini Lite feeding GSPro.
Then the data drowned him. A hundred numbers a session, a thousand YouTube tips, and every trip to the sim bay started from scratch. He would try a tip, not know what the numbers were telling him, forget what had worked the month before, and repeat the same miss without ever seeing the pattern. The fork was to hire a coach or build one. He built one, with the one property a human coach has that no chat app did: it remembers where your game has been, what you need to work on now, and the golfer you are trying to become.
He uses it himself. The sample read on the home page is his own session. He has about a year and a half of his own Uneekor data in the app, and over that time his handicap has moved from about 15 to about 12.6 in casual golf. The goal is single digits, which is why the site says so.
What we deliberately do not do
- No swing video analysis. On purpose. We coach from what the swing produced, not from frames.
- No shot tracking or GPS. A tracker tells you what happened and which club to hit. This is a coach. Many golfers use both.
- No app store build. The browser works on every device and ships improvements the same day.
- No flattering numbers. The free tools refuse to grade a value your launch monitor only estimated, count a gap that is narrower than your own shot to shot scatter, or invent a standard deviation. Every refusal, with the exact sentence you will see and the test that locks it, is listed in Where Fore-ward Thinking refuses to guess.
How it is run
Fore-ward Thinking is a sole proprietorship operated from Indiana, USA, launched publicly in June 2026, and run by its founder. It is a subscription: you start free with your Golfer DNA and three messages with Chip, no card required, and Pro is $19.99 a month with unlimited coaching. Cancel any time and your Golfer DNA stays exactly where you left it.
Questions, bugs, or a launch monitor export that would not read: contact page or support@forewardthinking.com. The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy say what we do with your data in plain language.
Elsewhere on the site
- Learn: data dense guides to launch monitor and simulator numbers, grouped by what you are trying to do.
- Free tools: decode an export, check your club gapping, build a wedge yardage chart, or see which numbers your device measures versus estimates. They run in your browser and nothing uploads.
- Home: how the coaching loop works, pricing, and the FAQ.
